Best Cancer Treatments in India

Cancer is a term for diseases in which abnormal cells divide without control. Cancer cells can invade nearby structures and spread to other parts of the body and may be a threat to life. Not all tumors are cancerous.

Cancer disease harms the body when damaged cells divide uncontrollably to form lumps or masses of tissue called tumors. Tumors can grow and interfere with the digestive, nervous, and circulatory systems, and they can release hormones that alter body function. Tumors that stay in one spot and demonstrate limited growth are generally considered to be benign.

Causes of Cancer

Cancer appears to occur when the growth of cells in the body is out of control and cells divide too quickly, which can also occur when cells forget how to die. Cancer can develop in almost any organ or tissue, such as the lung, colon, breast, skin, bones, or nerve tissue.

There are many causes of cancers, including:

* Benzene and other chemicals
* Drinking excess alcohol
* Environmental toxins
* Excessive sunlight exposure
* Genetic problems
* Obesity
* Radiation
* Viruses

Symptoms of Cancer

Symptoms of cancer depends on the type and location of the cancer. For instance, lung cancer can cause coughing, shortness of breath, or chest pain. Colon cancer often causes diarrhea, constipation, and blood in the stool. Some cancers may not have any symptoms at all.

The following symptoms can occur with most cancers:

* Chills
* Fatigue
* Fever
* Loss of appetite
* Malaise
* Night sweats
* Weight loss

Types of Cancer

Common Cancer Types:

Treatments for Cancer

 Surgery

Cancer surgery can be used to diagnose, treat, or even help prevent cancer in some cases. Surgery is also plays a key role in diagnosing cancer and finding out how far it has spread. This process is called staging. Most people with cancer will have some type of surgery. It often offers the greatest chance for cure, especially if the cancer has not spread to other parts of the body.

 Radiation Therapy

Radiation therapy is a cancer treatment. Goal of this treatment is to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors.

 Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy or chemo, is the use of medications to treat cancer. Cancer disease occurs when cells in the body develop abnormally and grow in an uncontrolled way. Cancer cells tend to divide rapidly; chemotherapy works by interfering with this, thereby preventing the cancer from spreading — and sometimes even curing the disease by helping to get rid of all the cancer cells in the body.

 Targeted Therapies

Targeted therapies attack certain molecular agents or pathways involved in the development of cancer. It offers promise for current and future breast cancer treatments.
 Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy or biological therapy is a type of treatment that uses the body’s immune system to fight cancer. This therapy mainly consists of stimulating the immune system to help it do its job more effectively.  Immunotherapy is a comparatively new type of therapy in the fight against many cancers.

 Hormonal Therapy

Hormone replacement therapy, medications containing female hormones, commonly estrogen and progestin and sometimes testosterone,  to replace the ones the body no longer makes after menopause — used to be a standard treatment for women with hot flashes and other menopause symptoms.

 Photodynamic Therapy

Photodynamic therapy uses a light-sensitive drug that is activated inside the body by laser light to kill cells, usually cancer cells.
